Schematic Design
Structural ideation while the design is still moving. I work with you on concepts and systems recommendations so the plan of action is sound before it hardens into something that will be difficult to change later on.

Design Development
The gravity and lateral system are settled and most of the structure is sized. This is where structural depth gets reconciled against the architecture and other engineering consultants and the overall design can go through preliminary pricing.
COORDINATION -

Construction Documents
Signed and stamped drawings, calculations, and specifications ready for permitting and the general contractor. Clean and coordinated construction set that will hold up to plan review, bidding, and in the field.
SIGNED & STAMPED -

Construction Administration
Site visits, timely RFI responses, submittal review and field adjustments once construction starts. I stay involved because the drawings are never the whole story.

Hi, I'm Shane. I run BONES.
I started BONES after more than twenty years designing structures for everything from luxury homes and restaurants to hotels, municipal buildings, and high-rise towers. Most of that time I worked alongside architects who cared deeply about how a building feels, and I learned that the best structures are the ones you barely notice. Today I work with architects and developers across Texas and New Mexico.
My job is to support the design without overpowering it. That means clean framing, efficient details, and structural decisions that make the architecture easier to build, not harder to see.
