    Structural thinking while the design is still moving. I work with the architect on framing concepts, likely systems, and the spans that shape the plan, so the geometry is sound before it hardens into something expensive to change.

    Members get real dimensions and the lateral system gets settled. This is where structural depth gets reconciled against the architecture, the mechanical routing, and the ceiling heights you actually wanted.

    Construction Documents

    Sealed drawings, calculations and specifications ready for the city and the contractor. Clean, coordinated sheets that hold up to plan review, value engineering, and the field.

About

Hi, I'm Shane. I run Bones.

I started Bones after two decades designing structure for homes, restaurants, and small commercial buildings around Austin. Most of that time I worked alongside architects who cared deeply about how a building feels, and I learned that the best structures are the ones you don't notice.

My job is to support the design without overpowering it. That means clean framing, efficient details, and structural decisions that make the architecture easier to build, not harder to see.
